February is CHD Month. Congenital Heart Defect(s) are the most common type of birth defect. They affect 8 out of every 1,000 newborns. Each year, more than 35,000 babies in the United States are born with congenital heart defects - and Ava was one of them. However, we are VERY lucky because Ava's Pulmonary Valve Stenosis is VERY mild...a rare circumstance for Williams Syndrome babies. In fact, she's in the 25% that doesn't have a major heart issue. We wear Red today for all our Heart Warrior friends with CHD's that aren't as lucky as us. When you go about your day, remember there's a child fighting for a healthy heart right at this very moment. ❤️❤️❤️
