“Namaste friends! My name is Ava and I live in a constant state of nirvana. It’s true! Life is full of bliss, harmony and joy if you ask me! But one of the coolest things about me, is that I was born Naturally Friendly & Social! Seriously, I was!
Well…technically I was born with a rare condition called Williams syndrome, but basically I was born with a Friendly & Social syndrome, which gives me the gift of gab and a magnet-like attraction to people! I mean, I just LOVE people! All kinds of people too! In fact, I’ve never met a person I didn’t like!
Let me put it this way: did you ever see the movie Elf? You know, the one with Will Ferrell in it and arguably the BEST holiday movie ever made? So I know it was filmed before I was born, and he might not know it himself, but he acts in the movie just.like.ME! Seriously…it’s as if he studied people who were born with Williams Syndrome for his role! I mean, he looks like me, acts like me, and even loves to eat sweets and candy like me too!
But actually I bet he studied “elves” for his role, which guess what? Elves are thought to be people with Williams syndrome! Yep! It’s true! Back in the old days, when people wrote fables about Elves and Jesters, it’s thought that they based these characters off of people who had Williams syndrome! Isn’t that a cool fact? Not only do we have the same personalities as elves, but we even have “elfin-like” facial features such as a cute button nose, pointy ears, rosy cheeks and an extra big, wide SMILE! I mean seriously — that’s ME!
Mama used to get upset by the elf and Williams syndrome reference, but she warmed up to it once she got to know me, which you know — took a whole 2 seconds! What can I say? I have a way with people, I mean...their spirits and mine are like little electric magnets!” - @outshinelabels
